The need For EFSIS accredited inspection.
Companies throughout the Food, Drink and allied industries are under increased pressure to demonstrate due diligence, at the same time having to maximise product quality, control costs and utilise resources efficiently. Many major purchasers require approval against a recognised standard as a pre-requisite for supplying food products. EFSIS has developed an accredited inspection service to meet the needs of purchasers, manufacturers and suppliers.
What are EFSIS accredited inspections?
- An independent inspection service designed for the food, drink and allied industries _ including packaging and raw materials - which operates world-wide.
- A service covering all areas critical to food safety, food hygiene and quality management; covering all the requirements of the BRC Technical Standard.
- An inspection of premises, procedures and practices to ascertain compliance with the EFSIS Standard and the CompanyŐs ability to demonstrate due diligence. When required, EFSIS is able to provide an expert witness.
- A full report is produced, detailing the plantŐs status against all areas of the EFSIS Standard. Areas of non-compliance are highlighted to enable corrective action to be taken and approval achieved.
Beef labelling verification
- The Beef Labelling Regulations ensure that customers receive reliable information about the beef they buy. It also means that the tradition of marking beef "British" or "Local" for example, has to be backed up by independent verification.

- Using its extensive knowledge of the meat industry, EFSIS has become the leading verification body in the UK.
- With a large number of customers within the meat industry, EFSIS is ideally placed to verify your claim quickly and accurately in the most cost effective manner. EFSIS Beef Labelling Verification can also be bolted on to other EFSIS inspection services giving even greater cost and time savings.
Store and kitchen inspections
- EFSIS provide an in-store/in-kitchen inspection service. These inspections can be undertaken against the Companys own standards, EFSIS standards or against Industry Guides to Good Hygiene Practice.
- A report is produced giving customers an accurate picture of operating standards. This can be used to ensure companies are meeting their own exacting quality standards.
- Companies who achieve the required standard are issued with a certificate giving their customers the re-assurance they require on Food Safety.
